ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Wichita State men's golf team finished second at the Rio Pinar Invitational, which concluded Tuesday in Orlando. The Shockers finished with a final tally of 858, 12 strokes behind tournament champion and host, Central Florida, and one stroke up on third-placed
WSU was led by Ryan Spears, who finished sixth with a three-round total of 211 (69-71-71), while Dustin Garza fired a 214 (72-71-71) to finish tied for 12th in the event. Connor McHenry shot a 72 in the final round to finish with a 217 (71-74-72), which put him in a tie for 21st.
Ty Sanders and Zac Potter each carded 77s in the final 18 holes. Sanders finished in a tie for 37th with a score of 220 (72-71-77), while Potter finished tied for 56th with a 223 (76-70-77).
The Shockers take the week off before heading to
